Chloe

After Bravo passed away, Raficki became sickly. He had an enlarged heart. raficky passed away 8 months later. I just had Disco. I didn't want Disco to be alone when I left the house so I headed up to the Dairyland Racetrack in Kenosha Wisconsin once again to adopt another greyhound.

There were only a few greyhounds available for adoption at the time I went to visit. I was hoping to get another male dog. Chloe was begging to get out of her cage and ran around a little wild when she was let out. I could tell that she didn't like being kept in a cage and would appreciate being able to roam freely in her new home. I decided on her so I filled out the paperwork. I didn't get to take her home that day because she had not been fixed yet. I came back in a week. I bought her a leash and collar and we headed home. I was given a copy of her breeding papers with the names of her parents and grandparents. Chloe seemed anxious to go to her new home. Chloe got right into the car. Chloe seemed fine in the car. She kept trying to come up front between the seats. We made it home safely.

When Chloe got to the house. I let her and Disco meet. I kept Chloe on a leash at first. The I let them run around the yard together. They chased each other and barked really loud. They wouldn't leave each other alone for quite a while. Chloe became accustom to living in a house very quickly. Feeding time got a little crazy because Bravo, Raficki and Disco always ate very nicely. Chloe kept trying to eat everything out of her bowl and Disco's. It took a little while for her to learn that she didn't have to compete for her food. It took some time but she is a very well behaved member of the family now.
